Slalom. Get it? Slalom?!

Types of mad skiing skills I assume I naturally have.

Slalom is managing consulting firm and they need a Copywriter. So I took their values and purpose and rewrote them into a ski-themed video. Because of Slalom. Just me shredding some tasty powder!

Who will help guide you down the mountain?

Narrator: There’s thrill in ascending the mountain, we all know, sure.

Open on skiers riding a ski lift up a mountain.

But coming down the other side–that’s its own unique adventure!

Cut to the skiers looking down the steep course down the hill.

It’s a chance to dream bigger, move faster and build better tomorrows.

We focus on some of their hopeful faces.

But who will have what it takes to guide you down?

Pan to a  mysterious skier in reflective ski goggles–he is backlit by the sun and strikes a commanding pose.

Who will take ownership?

He waves the group of skiers to him.

Who will have the guts to bring their full authentic experience

We zoom in on his ski jacket, which is covered with patches from mountains from all over the world.

And who has the passion to bring it out of the people around them?

We cut to an overhead shot of eveyone in a circle; the mysterious skier puts his hand and the rest lay their hands on top of his.

Who can you trust to stay focused,

The mysterious skier sets his sights on the finish line flag below; he leads the group down.

To stay curious,

He leads  them down cool paths

To stay humble?

But leads them away from insane jumps

Who can you trust to get it done with a smile

We see the lead skier smile and wave at an unseen person

And do what is right, always?

He slows down and helps a fallen skier get back on their feet.

Yes, the journey down the mountain can be quite an adventure.

We see the group celebrate as they cross the finish line together.

So keep an eye on the people who remember…

The lead skier takes off his goggles and….it’s Copywriter and Creative Client Lead Cliff McCloe!

…that the best path isn’t always a straight line.

He joins the celebration as we pan up to see the slalom course on the mountain. Fade out to the Slalom logo.

If you work for Slalom and you find this amusing at all, hook me up, yo!

The Lengths I Go To was my (thankfully) limited-series blog wherein I shared the different ways I tried to stand out during my job search. I did six of these, got three interviews and one job, so…..yeah! I brought it back to keep my chops tight, so there’s that.
